Twisted Vine Brewery recently shifted to a bigger space and definitely well worth a visit. The taproom is only open Wednesday through Sunday, so plan accordingly. Not sure if it’s still this way, but as of a few months ago, all of the waitstaff were volunteers dedicated to helping the brewery get off the ground. If people are willing to work here for free, imagine how cool it must be!

Toppling Goliath Brewing Co.

Buying tickets to a beer tasting probably isn’t as hard as buying tickets to a Radiohead concert, is it? When Toppling Goliath decided to release an imperial stout, they put 500 tickets up for sale online, and sold out within minutes–at one point more than 80,000 people were on their website hoping to get their hands on those valuable tickets. Toppling Goliath may be topping our list of must-visit Iowa breweries.
