From the world’s largest bottle cap collection to the largest gathering of people dressed as Mahatma Gandhi there are so many interesting world records out there! That got us thinking…what are some of the most fun wine world records? Well, there are a lot but this list is a great place to start. Here are some of our favorite wine world records. Think you can beat ‘em?
The Largest Bottle of Wine
Andre Vogel holds that title with a bottle of wine that’s 13 feet 8.17 inches tall nearly 4 feet in diameter. Wine party, anyone?
Longest Time Balancing A Glass of Wine on Forehead
It may sound like something you’d only attempt after a few glasses, but definitely something you’ll master only if totally sober. We suggest practicing with an unbreakable glass! Watch Peter Durdik balance wine for more than 35 minutes.
Most Consecutive Table Tennis Ball Bounces on an Empty Wine Bottle
We’re not even sure what would make someone even think to do this kind of thing, but Pavol Durdik did – and he bounced that ball 3,274 times in a row. The Durdiks from Slovakia are dominating some of the wackiest wine world records!
Most Consecutive Golf Ball Bounces On an Empty Wine Bottle While Juggling Two Tennis Balls in the Other Hand
While perhaps an oddly specific record, if you give it a try, you’ll very quickly see how difficult it is to do. With 19 bounces, Brian Pankey currently holds this record. Watch this wine world record here.
Most People Uncorking Wine Simultaneously
One day in Switzerland, 1054 people each grabbed a bottle of wine, a wine opener and on the count of three they all uncorked. If that’s not amazing enough, setting this record was a fundraiser for a school in Kenya.
Most Wine Glasses Held in One Hand
Of course there would be a wine world record for this! And the talented record holder is Reymond Adina. Reymond was working in Barcelona when he broke the record (and not the glasses) but he is originally from Philippines. Way to go, Reymond!
Most Wine Glasses Broken in a Mind Control Stage Illusion
A what? Yeah, that’s what we said. But apparently the great magicians, Walter Rolfo and Piero Ustignani used the power of the mind to break 66 glasses on stage – or at least some really great illusions. Let’s see them pull that off with Taza unbreakable wine glasses 😉
Largest Wine Glass
The largest wine glass sounds more like a bathtub than a wine glass – it was around 12.5 feet tall! The gigantic wine glass was made by Kumitat Festi Esterni San Gorg Hal Qormi in Malta.
First Robot Sommelier
This is the kind of AI we’re into: a robot that analyses wine and then tells us about it. The Wine-Bot was developed by NEC System Technologies and Mie University in Japan.
These are just a few of our favorite wine world records – believe it or not, there are tons of others! But if you try to set your own, please practice with unbreakable wine glasses first!
